Connects with PurchasingNet to Increase Profitability and Enforce
Internal Controls
Red Bank, NJ
April 19, 2004. PurchasingNet, Inc., a premier
provider of eProcurement and ePayables software, today announced
that EarthLink, Inc. (NASDAQ: ELNK) has chosen PurchasingNet to
support their enterprise-wide eProcurement initiatives. EarthLink
plans to use the web-based PNet solutions for automating their
enterprise-wide requisitioning, purchasing, receiving, and invoicing
requirements.
Headquartered in Atlanta, EarthLink is one of
the nation’s largest Internet Service Providers (ISPs) serving
more than five million consumer and small business clients. According
to the J.D. Power and Associates 2003 Internet Service Provider
Residential Customer Satisfaction StudySM, EarthLink is ranked
highest in customer satisfaction among high-speed Internet Service
Providers.
According to Kevin Dotts, Vice President of
Finance at EarthLink, implementing PNet software will help achieve
a number of critical goals – establishing purchasing discipline,
gaining control over spending, leveraging corporate spend, improving
vendor payments, and improving supplier management. “PNet
is the systems infrastructure supporting our overall Procurement
process. By changing our system, our policy and our process we
expect to see solid efficiency gains for our indirect purchases.”
PurchasingNet’s Web-based and scalable
software will initially be used to manage corporate-wide procurement
and will later be expanded to automate the entire supplier invoicing
process. According to Dan Brogan, Senior Manager of Sourcing Programs
at EarthLink, the relationship between companies continues to
grow and strengthen. “PurchasingNet is more than just another
software vendor to us,” says Brogan. “We rely on their
years of experience and vast knowledge, and we trust in their
ability to bring best practices to our organization. Jointly,
we expect this relationship to have a great and positive impact
on our organization.”
